Our team follows proper installation techniques and industry standards to ensure your stucco finish performs well over time and adds value to your property.
Stucco Installation
We provide full stucco systems for residential and commercial properties. Our stucco installation process ensures proper layering, adhesion, and finishing for a strong, long-lasting exterior.
Lath Installation
Lath is the structural base that supports a stucco system. It consists of a metal or wire framework installed over the surface before stucco is applied. Our team installs lath with precision to ensure your stucco system performs reliably for years to come.

We work with homeowners and builders to deliver high-quality stucco finishes for new homes, additions, and renovations. Our residential stucco services focus on both durability and curb appeal.

Collier Drywall & Stucco LLC partners with contractors and developers on commercial stucco projects. We understand the importance of timelines, coordination, and consistent quality across large-scale builds.
Traditional vs Synthetic Stucco
When choosing a stucco system, it’s important to understand the difference between traditional and synthetic options. Each offers unique benefits depending on your project goals, budget, and performance needs.
The right choice depends on your specific needs, including budget, building structure, and desired appearance. Our team can help you determine the best stucco system based on your project requirements and long-term goals.
Traditional Stucco
(Cement-Based)
Traditional stucco is a time-tested system made from cement, sand, lime, and water. It is applied in multiple layers over a properly prepared surface, including lath.
Benefits of Traditional Stucco
- Extremely durable and long-lasting
- Strong resistance to impact and wear
- Breathable, allowing moisture to escape
- Classic, natural appearance
Traditional stucco is a great choice for projects that prioritize durability and a timeless finish.
Synthetic Stucco
(EIFS)
Synthetic stucco, also known as EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), is a layered system that includes insulation and a flexible finish coat.
Benefits of Synthetic Stucco
- Lightweight and energy-efficient
- More flexible, helping reduce cracking
- Smooth, consistent appearance
- Wide range of color and design options
Synthetic stucco is often used for projects that require added insulation and design flexibility.
Stucco Texture Finishes
One of the biggest advantages of stucco is the variety of textures and finishes available. Texture plays a major role in the overall look of your property, from smooth and modern to more traditional or decorative styles.
Float or Sand
The most common finish for stucco of commercial buildings would be “float” or “sand.” This is a versatile finish that can be used on both traditional and synthetic stucco and is applied with a single coat.
Dash
Dash is a unique look, it can be changed with 1-3 coats. This finish is available for both traditional and synthetic, and it can be a great option for homeowners who are concerned with cracking.
Lace and Skip
Lace and skip is a rough stucco finish that hides imperfections and can be applied by hand or spray. It’s used in both commercial and residential buildings and offers fine, medium, or coarse texture options.
English
Want to add a little aged sophistication to your home? You should use this finish. The English finish is usually found on older buildings, but it is sometimes placed on newer construction, too. Only for stucco.
Worm
Worm, or “putz” and “swirl” finish, was once popular but is now less common. Large aggregate pieces create indents in the stucco surface, making each worm finish unique. However, it can be challenging to patch if it cracks.
Cat Face
Cat face stucco has large smooth areas with rough patches called “inclusions.” Suitable for both traditional and synthetic stucco, it offers a unique finish, ensuring each application is distinct.
Santa Barbara
This finish uses fine sand particles for an adobe look and can be colored or painted to avoid variations in the coating. It offers a smooth finish, though this smoothness can lead to visible cracking.
Smooth
Smooth texture stucco, though difficult to achieve, is becoming popular for its customizable options like coloring and mottling. It works best with synthetic stucco but can also be applied to fine cement traditional stucco.
Stucco Application Systems
1-COAT Stucco Hard Coat System
1-COAT Stucco Hard Coat System
A single coat stucco system is sometimes known as a 2-coat system that consists of a cement base. Foam is also applied.
3-COAT Stucco Hard Coat System
3-COAT Stucco Hard Coat System
The usual 3-coat system consists of a water resistant barrier typically made from asphalt-infused paper, then other layers of wire, a scratch and brown layer, and a finish coat or primer. The cement base coat is usually about 7/8”.
EIFS STUCCO SYSTEMS
EIFS STUCCO SYSTEMS
EIFS stands for “Exterior Insulation and Finish System.” These do not require hard coats and use thinner layers. EIFS assemblies were made to keep water on the outside of the building. Hard coats can absorb water, on the other hand.
Why Quality Stucco Work Matters
A proper stucco installation protects your property from moisture, weather exposure, and long-term wear. Poor installation can lead to cracking, water intrusion, and costly repairs.
